Clay Soby

My interest in the martial arts started, like many of my generation, with The Karate Kid movie. I began as many Martial Artists by studying Tae Kwon Do. I studied for a couple of semesters at UW-Whitewater before trying other arts, never getting very far.

About 5 years ago I decided to try Martial Arts again and found DMA in the phone book. I came down and tried a few classes and was hooked. I studied mostly under Sensei Ed and so when he and Doug opened their own school, I gladly joined them. I have recently received my Black Belt and look forward to continue to progress. I like the atmosphere we have here. It is like a family and we have a lot of fun. I want to help keep that feeling going as I continue to learn and help others along the way to achieve their goals.

I will be 37 this year and have a family at home. I have been married to Stacy going on 8 years and we have a daughter named Savanna. She will be 6 in August. I have lived in the Rapid City area for about 14 years now, off and on. We currently live in Rapid City. I work for Youth & Family Services as an IT Specialist. In my free time I enjoy reading, learning about computers, playing guitar, and working on web sites.

Hope to see you in class..

Clay
